It’s been a long journey that led me to create Strong into Superb to mentor women through menopause and beyond, as well as to break down the stigma and taboo about menopause.
Years ago, I started my IT career while I was studying for my Bachelor of Arts in Computing Studies (yes, it was a BA back then). Over the years, I’ve become an expert in strategic business improvement, organisational change, and innovation. There were a variety of businesses involved, from small to large, for-profit and non-profit.
Everything I did was about creating workplaces that transformed lives while still being profitable (if relevant) … being the best in and for the world! I’ve come to believe that this is only possible if you support improving the wellbeing of everyone in the business.
This lead me to starting a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) focusing on wellbeing during the menopause transition at The University of Melbourne in 2020, and I finished it in 2022. What a time to study wellbeing science… during COVID19! Meanwhile, I was working in a high-profile job and going through medically induced menopause. A lot of things changed in my life.
I completed my Graduate Certificate in Educational Research in 2023, where I researched how bestselling menopause self-help books in Australia represent wellbeing.
Mentoring women through menopause and beyond is what I do. My passion about doing this and my personal story can be found here. I do so by providing evidence-based information and strategies to learn about menopause and support wellbeing during it.
I’m a menovist (menopause activist) who breaks down stigmas about menopause through speaking engagements and media appearances. I’m also a wellbeing science researcher trying to figure out how to support everyone’s wellbeing during menopause, including families, groups, workplaces, and the broader community.
In Canberra, I organise face-to-face Menopause Cafe’s and Action for Happiness monthly get togethers. See What’s On for more details on these.
