Already navigating your menopause journey? Maybe you have a family member, friend or colleague who is? Then this blog is for you!

All people born with functioning ovaries (from here I’ll refer to them as “woman/women” and these are inclusive of people who identify as non-binary and those transitioning their gender using hormones) will experience menopause (their final menstrual period) naturally or medically, due to medication or surgery.

That’s right … every woman you know will have or has had their menopause!!!

All of them!!!

If you know a woman between the age of 45 and 60, then it is likely that they are navigating their way to menopause and out the other side. The average age of natural menopause in Australia is 51. Around 8% of woman experience menopause early (before age 45 years), and 1% prematurely (before age 40 years).

Take a moment and think of all the women in your life … how many could be over 45? Each of these may be having their life turned upside down due to changes in their body that may be due to them nearing their menopause. Or maybe there is no impact on their life as they get closer to it. That’s because every woman’s menopause journey is unique!

I started this blog for you … whether you are going through your menopausal journey, supporting a loved one going through it, perhaps wondering how to support someone at work and/or wondering what may be ahead of you.

With all the conversations I have had with all genders about the menopause journey, there is a need for clarity. I will be translating menopause information and its related complex health content out there and into accessible, practical insights for you to digest and easily understand.

I will also be sharing the reality on how it may impact women, their personal life and their work life. This will include tips and real-life examples on how not to feel fragile during the menopause journey and/or support others to navigate menopause in personal and work life.

All of this will enable you to make informed decisions based on fact.

Stay tuned for my next blog where I’ll be deep diving into menopause: what is the menopause journey and what a woman may experience during it!
